Raw Energy brings healthy nosh to Edward Street

Brisbane CBD welcomed its first Raw Energy cafe last week, giving city workers a fresh new option for nourishing meals, guilt-free treats and smoothies.

The tale of Raw Energy began with a humble cafe opening almost 20 years ago in Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. The core of the offering was fresh, healthy food, all-day breakfast and wholesome smoothies and juices. Not much has changed over the past 16 years, as Raw Energy franchises have popped up around Queensland and NSW. Local ingredients are still transformed into a range of salads, wraps, sandwiches and burgers, many of which are available gluten free. Last Thursday July 16 saw the opening of Raw Energy on the corner of Edward and Mary Streets in the Brisbane CBD, boasting plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and a green living wall at the back of the venue.

Have your meal freshly made or choose from the selection of salads, sandwiches and treats waiting in the cabinet. Feast on all-day breakfast options like an acai bowl with toasted muesli or corn and zucchini fritters with grilled bacon, avocado and a poached egg, or pop in for lunch to nosh on a gluten-free Mexican roll-up in a herb garlic lavash, vegetable and pesto ricotta lasagne or a macadamia and lentil burger. Round out the meal with a divine bliss ball, a cup of Harney & Sons tea or a Veneziano coffee.

The cafe will soon be opening for dinner service, meaning you can drop in after work for a few tapas plates and a glass of organic, preservative-free wine or craft beer. Cocktails will be made on the cafe’s freshly made juices and spirits will be served with organic Soda Republic offerings. A projector will stream live images of cities from around the world, as well as silent films and historic music videos.
