Pony Eagle Street Pier, Brisbane

Sydney institution Pony opens at Eagle Street Pier

With locations at Neutral Bay and The Rocks in Sydney, Pony Dining has eloped up the coast to Brisbane’s Riverside precinct. Known for impressive design fit-outs of contemporary furniture, curved wooden ceilings and block-colour stained-glass windows, Pony Dining continues to embrace all things raw and exposed in the new Eagle Street Pier space.

With the interior designed by Woods Bagot, Pony sees a steel ribbon wave overhead, curling its way through the dining area and towards the bar. Raw materials including exposed brick, steel and timber combine with sleek copper light shades and concrete bar tops, while a laser-cut patterned ceiling lets in dappled light.

Taking an honest approach to food, Pony sees the robust flavours of a charcoal-grill dining experience fashioned in an open-plan kitchen, which is complete with a wood-fire grill and custom rotisserie. Amongst the menu of modern-Australian cuisine, diners will find fine cuts of meat and fresh seafood across share and large plates. A boutique selection of wines joins an inventive cocktail list, perfectly matched to the contemporary creations of head chef, Damian Heads. Having opened Pony The Rocks and Neutral Bay with restaurateurs The Kyprianou boys, Damian returns to his hometown of Brisbane to shape a local Pony experience here.

Sip on a Drunken Pigge cocktail of Piggs Peake’s fortified, aged Jamaican rum and strawberries while welcoming the weekend, or take up a table for an evening of epicurean delight.
