If you haven’t wrapped your laughing gear around a hotdog or sunk your incisors into a burger from Pit Boss American BBQ & Eats in Newmarket, then consider this your official notice to sort your life out. We’re just kidding – there is still hope for you. Pit Boss has brought its brand of red, white and blue-inspired eats to a new flagship in Coorparoo – plating up some of the heartiest comfort food outside of the United States.

From humble rib shack to a fledgling foodie empire, Pit Boss American BBQ & Eats has made its mark on the tastebuds of hungry Brisbane diners ever since it fired up the smoker at its original location on Enoggera Road in Newmarket. Since conquering the north side of town, the Pit Boss team has had its eye set on taking on Brisbane’s east – recently opening a new flagship location in Coorparoo that is a fully realised version of the Pit Boss vision. It’s hard not to feel oddly patriotic when dining here – the space is adorned with the instantly recognisable stars and stripes, striking red furniture and television screens broadcasting American sport.

If the name Pit Boss American BBQ & Eats doesn’t clue you in to what’s on offer here, then I’ll break it down in as few words as possible. Burgers. Ribs. Wings. Hotdogs. Fries. Ice-cream. Pie. Capiche? Pit Boss Coorparoo has assembled the A-Team of classic American eats, but just rattling off words doesn’t do the food justice. The aroma of the buffalo sauce is intoxicating, the mac and cheese is moreish and the meat that sloughs of the pork ribs is imbued with the flavours of the North Carolina style barbecue sauce and smoky wood chips from the Ministry of Smoke. The real specialty here is the house-crafted, Philadelphia-style ice-cream, which boasts flavours such as key lime pie, smoked maple, peanut butter and jelly, and strawberry shortcake. A feast of this magnitude shouldn’t be tackled without something to wash it all down – Pit Boss Coorparoo is licensed and will stock American beers and loaded milkshakes in addition to is selection of American sodas.
