Fans of a nice glass of pinot noir will be able to sample close to 100 of the world’s best when Pinot Palooza slips into Lightspace on October 11.

Wine appreciation can be an intimidating hobby to break into, what with all the vineyards, blends, flavours, ingredients and methods that inform the flavour of every drop. Thankfully there is a yearly event that makes the first step into pinot appreciation easy, without the fear of being called a cork dork. Pinot Palooza is returning to Brisbane for an afternoon of food, wine and music. From 1:00 pm Lightspace will be filled from wall to wall with some of the southern hemisphere’s best wine producers.

Australian and New Zealand producers will be on hand, including notable wineries such as Ata Rangi, Bay of Fires, Shaw + Smith, Yabby Lake, Kooyong, Mt Difficulty and Giant Steps. Wine educators will be hosting a Burgundy Masterclass, discussing the merits and changes of the wines from the region while The Burgundy Bar will be the best spot to indulge in the best pinots by the glass, with choices guided by gifted sommeliers. Avid wine drinkers can also purchase a backstage pass which grants access to a 45 minute session with some of the best minds in the wine business. Head to the Pinot Palooza website for more information on tickets, packages and producers.
