It doesn’t get better than paddock-to-plate pork from Pigs Run Wild

Most meat eaters have a strong affinity for pork. Bacon, ham, sausages, chops – is there anything pork can’t be? Despite its popularity, there is still a huge gap in the market for free-range pork – that is until Pigs Run Wild filled it. This Byron Bay and Ballina-based business works directly with farm partners to grow and distribute amazing fresh pork and chemical free small goods along the east coast.

Pigs Run Wild is a Seriously Free Range Food Network that has connected eight small farms from Byron Bay down to Canberra. The business helps instil proper free-range farming practices and technologies, while working directly with its farmer partners to serve conscious consumers. The pork distributed by Pigs Run Wild is hormone, gluten, chemical and nitrate-free, with the entire pig utilised in a nose to tail approach that ensures there is no wastage and that the best free-range cuts are available. Each farm is selected after a trial process, in which the breeds and feeds are monitored regularly to ensure the highest quality and animal welfare.

Pigs Run Wild has launched a crowd-funding campaign to help put on a celebration of good food and good farming – offering taster packs from stockists, nose-to-tail suckling pig degustation dinners, secret recipes, weekend getaways and farm tours. Head to the IndieGoGo website to see what’s available and to lend your support, or head to Northey Street Organic Farmers Market to inspect the selection of free-rage sausages, bacon, salamis, loin, and pork ribs for yourself.
