Pavement Whispers: Volume 81 July 19

From whispers of guilt-free sundaes to new chef-hatted restaurants, The Weekend Edition is always on the search for the latest news in Brisbane, dedicated to ensuring its readers are in the know. When we put our ears to the pavement this week, this is what we found out …

Brisbane Times Good Food Guide Awards
It’s official guys – Brisbane is a pretty amazing place to be if you love to eat good food. Last night saw Queensland’s best restaurants gather for the Brisbane Times 2017 Good Food Guide Awards, with 28 Brisbane restaurants taking home coveted hats. The big wins of the night were South Brisbane’s Gauge taking out Queensland’s Vittoria Coffee Restaurant of the Year, and Gerard’s Bistro’s Ben Williamson winning Citi Chef of the Year. Get the full details in our wrap up here, and make room in your diary (and stomach) to start working your way through them.

Yum Gelato
Public service announcement! It might be a good idea to wear stretchy pants on Thursday. Why? Yum Gelato is opening on Lytton Road in East Brisbane! The hole-in-the-wall gelato shop comes from pastry chef Nic Waring and is the more-refined sibling of the colourful Coolum ice-creamery of the same name. Yum Gelato East Brisbane with offer artisan Italian-style ice-cream and sorbets, as well as desserts, acai and smoothie bowls, pressed juice and superfood goodies. Let your mouth water over the thought of licking gelato flavours such as brown-butter honey popcorn, and caramelised white chocolate and macadamia. Keep an eye on The Weekend Edition later this week for full details!

My Plate Clean Treats ice-cream sundae pop-up
Craving an ice-cream sundae but not too keen on all the naughties that come with it? Well this Saturday is your day.
