Enjoy the best from our own backyard at Newstead’s Pantry 360

We’ve said it once, we’ll say it a thousand times. Queensland has some of Australia’s best produce – hands down! We no longer have to point to individual producers as cases to prove it – Newstead’s Pantry 360 has brought the best of them together to make it easier on us all. Some of the finest produce in the state can be found at the new cafe-meets-grocer, which is stocking choice morsels from within a 360-km radius of Brisbane, while also creating a menu of top tucker from its sizeable haul.

Fed up with the lack of love Queensland produce got amongst Brisbane foodies, Jenny Conlon and Greg Bakx made it their mission to bring the best foodstuffs from across the state to one central hub – making it extremely easy to buy and support local providores. Pantry 360 – The Regional Grocer has been named as such because of its all-encompassing selection of goods, all of which have been sourced from within 360 km of Brisbane. Aiming to improve consumer knowledge of local produce and remove the misconception that you have to go far abroad to find quality, Greg and Jenny researched for more than a year to find the best culinary offerings from as far north as Bundaberg and as far south as Coffs Harbour. Pantry 360’s grocer portion is stocked with everything a kitchen needs. We’re talking Bee One Third honey, 4Real Milk from the Scenic Rim, cheese from the Woombye Cheese Company, Garnisha curries, macrobiotic sea salt, soaps and hot sauce from Church Farm and eggs from The Egg Man. Extensive, right? You don’t know the half of it.

Before the shelves of goodies distract you, be sure to cast an eye over the menu. Pantry 360 offers breakfast, lunch and early dinner with a menu comprised of morsels available in the grocer. With a strong seasonal focus, Pantry 360’s menu will evolve and change to take advantage of the best produce of the moment. The fare isn’t run of the mill either – unless you consider Cajun smoked prawns on sweetcorn fritters, honey-glazed speck and poached figs on potato rosti, and pork belly with cauliflower puree to be standard (then la di da to you!). Pair that with thirst quenchers such as Old Cossack kefir, HRVST ST juices, Arakai Estate loose-leaf tea and sublime coffee and you’ve got yourself an eatery that caters to your every need. The coming months will see Pantry 360 hold product showcases and demonstrations with seasonal goods, as well as the introduction of a dessert menu featuring the likes of almond milk pannacotta.
