What can be achieved by a small group of locals, who care about their neighbourhood and their fellow humans? A lot, it seems, as Incredible Edible co-founder Pam Warhurst discusses the initiative that was hatched by a few caring souls around a kitchen table. With a hope to introduce more greenery to their hometown of Todmorden in northern England, the group started building fruit, veggie and herb patches around the streets, in what would they would refer to as ‘propaganda gardening’. Todmorden has already started attracting ‘vegetable tourists’ and the model has been replicated in towns across England, America, Japan and Australia.
