Blackstar delivers cold-pressed coffee to workplaces

The folk behind Blackstar Coffee understand that it can be difficult to get a good iced coffee hit when mid-afternoon duty calls. Legendary creator of the Full Creamy, Soy Deluxe and Total Black cold-pressed iced coffees – which are hand-bottled into sustainably packaged amber glass bottles – Blackstar is now making cold coffee deliveries to offices about town. The West End-based roastery and cafe has also just created its first skim-milk iced coffee, dubbed the Star Lite, and is trialling an iced coffee stall at QUT Gardens Point, with the hope that the 9:00 am to 2:30 pm slot will continue permanently. This short video by Chicago-based baker-meets-photographer Hattie Mahatma Kotz delivers a quick tutorial in making Lemon Thyme Apple Butter. Filmed to a cute Juno-esque track, the food film shows the honey-sweetened spread can be served on sourdough, or, as Hattie suggests, can be fitting as an accompaniment to roast lamb with the added earthiness of the thyme.
