Savour the bounty of truffle season with OTTO Ristorante’s truffle service

When the mercury dips and the warm coats come out of the wardrobe, you know that truffle season is here. The highly prized morsel is at its best for only a few weeks of the year, meaning that those eager to get their fix need to act quickly. OTTO Ristorante is introducing a divine truffle service, giving your dishes the luxe pizazz they deserve.

If we could, we’d shave truffles over everything. Steak? Yep. Pasta? You bet. Ice-cream? Uh, of course. If truffles came like bags of shredded tasty cheese, you could kiss our diets goodbye. Unfortunately for us, truffle season is only a short period of the year and supply is limited. One silver lining of this is that OTTO Ristorante is offering a special truffle service for diners that have a penchant for the fabulous fungus. How does a truffle service work, exactly? Well, patrons will be afforded the ability to add Australian black Manjumup truffles to their dish of choice, served table-side and shaved generously over your meal. Let us emphasise one part – this service goes with all menu items.

Although the truffle service can be ordered with all dishes on the menu, OTTO Ristorante head chef Will Cowper has created some specialty dishes designed to be enhanced by a hearty sprinkle of truffle. The likes of house-made fettuccini with slippery jack mushrooms, truffle gelato with hazelnut praline or fresh truffle risotto will be available for a limited time. Also of note, OTTO Ristorante will be hosting an exclusive five-course degustation with matched wines on Wednesday July 4, a true delight for die-hard truffle lovers. The add-on service runs until the end of August and gives patrons five grams of freshly shaved truffle at the table and some of OTTO’s own chocolate truffles to take home.
