Sink your chompers into a loaded bagel at West End’s NYC Bagel Deli
It doesn’t matter how you pronounce it, or how you dress it up – if you’ve never opted for a bagel sandwich at your local market, you simply haven’t lived. No exaggeration, bagels are more than just a novelty food – they are a bona fide brunch star. NYC Bagel Deli recently opened a new bricks-and-mortar location on Vulture Street, dishing up a range of bagels as well as tasty coffee.
For the past two years Eddy Tice and Ania Kutek have firmly established themselves as Brisbane bagel royalty. As the minds behind NYC Bagel Deli, Eddy and Ania – a chef and nutritionist respectively – have helped spread the good word about stacked, made-to-order bagel sandwiches, toasted and stuffed with fresh ingredients. Saturday August 20 saw a new NYC Bagel Deli location open on Vulture Street in West End, in the location formerly occupied by Green Bees Organics. This spot complements Eddy and Ania’s market empire and is the third permanent location after their Westfield Chermside and Logan Hyperdome kiosks.
NYC Bagel Deli in West End features an expanded range of options compared to the market stalls, as well as coffee from Cleanskin Coffee Co. Fresh bagels from The Bagel Boys in a myriad of flavours are used as a base for sandwiches including classics such as the Club (smoked chicken, bacon, tomato and aioli), the Reuben (pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and pickles) and the 12-hour pulled pork. New additions to the menu include a cheeky brekkie bagel with bacon, two over-easy eggs, Swiss cheese and tomato chutney, as well as the Sweet Tooth, which boasts espresso butter, cream cheese, poached pear and berry compote.
