Taste and toast at the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival

If you’re anything like us, food and wine are two of the most powerful motivators to get us hopping in the car and heading to a remote location. This weekend we’ll be taking the hour-and-a-half roadtrip north to enjoy four days of feasting and drinking at the 2015 Noosa International Food and Wine Festival.

The gorgeous region of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast will play host once again to a fantastic weekend full of tastings, information sessions and cooking demonstrations. Chefs, food producers and winemakers from across Australia and over the seas will descend on Noosa Heads for the 12th annual Noosa International Food and Wine Festival from Thursday May 14 to Sunday May 17.

An impressive line-up of food experts – from chefs Adriano Zumbo and David Pugh to winemakers Chris Tyrell and Darren De Bortoli, producers including Barambah Organics and Cloudy Bay Clams, and food and wine writers – will be complemented by live entertainers including Afro-Cuban salsa bands, concert pianists and funk groups. Mingle with fellow foodies at the Westpac Welcome Party Grand Opening Concert on Friday evening, join a food trail in the hinterland or at Mooloolaba Wharf, feast on dishes featuring fresh local produce at guest chef lunches or join all the action in Festival Village. The Lions Park in Noosa Heads will be the site of celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, wine-tasting sessions, discussions on food, travel and philosophy, and of course plenty of food, wine and beer. Check out the full program and purchase tickets online.
