Pavement Whispers: Nodo to expand its brunch and doughnut empire with new Hawthorne cafe

Few things can brighten our day quite like a gluten-free doughnut from Nodo and nothing makes our week like hearing that Nodo is opening a brand-new cafe in Hawthorne! The perennially popular baked-goods dispenser and bang-on brunch provider will be unveiling its new location in April – here’s what we know …

As anyone who has demolished a box of Nodo doughnuts will attest, you can never have too much of a good thing. Well, we reckon the same goes for Nodo outlets. Doughnut doyenne Kate Williams’ booming Nodo portfolio currently consists of one grab-and-go pitstop in The City, three shopping-centre kiosks and three dine-in cafes (Newstead, Camp Hill and South Bank). In April the count will go up by one more when Nodo opens a brand-new 50-seat cafe in Hawthorne, situated within the Two Sixty-Five micro-precinct on Hawthorne Road.

Nodo will be joining the likes of Ze Pickle, Paper Cup Coffee Co. and Botanica (the latter of which is officially opening on Monday January 25) as headline tenants of the brand-new foodie hub. The cafe will offer its beloved all-day menu, cups of smooth specialty coffee, nourishing Nodo-2-go items, an array of pantry goods and its full range of drool-worthy hand-dipped doughnuts. The team at Cameron and Co Architecture is designing the Hawthorne space, which will no doubt boast a slick and contemporary aesthetic similar to Nodo’s other locations. We’ll have a detailed look inside once Nodo Hawthorne opens to the public.
