Pavement Whispers: nodo to join the West Village fold with a doughnut-slinging kiosk in Peters Lane
It’s a good time to be a doughnut lover in Brisbane. nodo, the bakery cafe brand specialising in gluten-free treats, is set to expand its portfolio by one with a new spot opening at West Village this August. This grab-and-go joint will be stocked to the brim with nodo’s signature range of doughnuts, takeaway breakfast bites and barista-brewed coffee. Read on to find out what we know …
By our calculations, the nodo empire grows by one location almost every year. After its Newstead location launched in 2015, nodo opened a spot in Camp Hill in 2018 and another in South Bank in 2019. The team skipped a year because of COVID (understandable), but then returned to form with the arrival of its Hawthorne cafe in 2021. This tally doesn’t include nodo’s grab-and-go location on Elizabeth Street in The City or its kiosks at Westfield Chermside, Westfield Carindale and Westfield Garden City. All told, doughnut doyenne Kate Williams has built a remarkable portfolio on the back of her famed gluten-free treats and bang-on breakfasts. Almost like clockwork, nodo has announced another opening – this time over in West Village.
This August, nodo will unveil a new takeaway-oriented joint in Peters Lane retail precinct, home to Harris Farm Markets. The cosy corner kiosk, designed by Cameron & Co Architecture and built by Unita, will be designed to lure the eye of West Village wanderers – many of whom will no doubt be swayed by the sight of a cabinet filled to bursting point with doughnuts. In addition to these baked beauties, nodo West Village will serve classic Nodo menu items served grab-and-go style – we’re talking classic egg toast, house-made pumpkin loaf and nourish bowls, as well as cold and hot coffee, cold-pressed juices and nodo’s supernatural shakes. With West Village’s green spaces a short stroll away, we have an inkling that nodo will be a popular morning pit stop for those looking to nosh outside.
Nodo’s West Village kiosk will open in August.
