New Shanghai, Brisbane

Sydney’s New Shanghai opens in QueensPlaza

Those not particularly partial to the dining conditions attached to a food court lunch will be surprised by the presence of Chinese restaurant New Shanghai on the lower ground level of QueensPlaza.

With several locations around Sydney, New Shanghai has expanded to Brisbane, bringing its signature noodle soups and dumplings to the local palate. Shanghai-Style Dumplings come with pork and cabbage, pork and chive, lamb and leek and vegetarian fillings, while the Hot Spicy & Sour Soup with Shredded Pork & Bean Curd is sure to be popular amongst our current obsession with all things slow-cooked and pulled apart.

A cold dish menu includes the likes of Drunken Chicken soaked in Chinese wine with herbs and spices, which comes with or without cold noodles. If you’ve got time to sample something sweet, the Slow-cooked White Fungus with Papaya on the dessert menu sounds intriguing, as does the Red or Green Bean Paste topped with ice-cream and shaved ice.
