Coffee roasters Nessun Dorma expand to a new inner-city locale

One of Brisbane’s best family-owned coffee roasters has made some serious moves in the inner-city dining scene, taking over a charming rustic space on Margaret Street for their second cafe. Duck in for quick a bite or linger over a coffee or two, Nessun Dorma is a great space to stop by if you are looking to shake up your brunch routine.

Familiar to many as an aria from the final act of Puccini’s opera Turandot, Nessun Dorma is also the name of a robust and enchanting coffee operation in Yeronga. This family business has been expanding steadily over the past couple of years, and has now opened a second location in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD. The rustic industrial space used to house Brother Espresso, but now offers shelter for those seeking to engage with coffee like they would a complex musical composition – savouring the notes and highlights, revelling in the euphoric jolt that java (and opera) gives. The cosy space boasts exposed brick, unique lighting fixtures – perfect for workers seeking sustenance or a place to hold a casual business meeting.

Nessun Dorma offers a delectable selection of all-day breakfast options, lunch toasties, fresh sandwiches, ribbon sandwiches and hot lunch specials. Classic choices such as avocado on toast, eggs Benedict, and savoury mince on toast are joined on the menu by creative fare including Spanish baked eggs, curry spiced cauliflower fritters, roasted sweet potato hash caked and French toast with Canadian-style bacon. As a coffee roaster first and foremost, Nessun Dorma brings the goods when it comes to java. Several blends and single origins are available, with filter and cold-press options available for the discerning drinkers. If you aren’t a coffee drinker (it’s okay, the Nessun Dorma staff don’t judge) you can order loose leaf tea or juices.
