National Organic Week first appeared in Australia in 2008 in order to increase consumer demand and confidence in organically-grown produce. By engaging with the general public and the farming community, the Centre for Organic Research & Education aim to build capacity for the conversion of non-organic farming methods across Australia as well as informing food sellers, retailers and restaurateurs about the benefits of biodynamic produce.

From Ovtober 2 to 11, National Organic Week will be hosting a range of activities across the country. Seminars, tastings and product launches will take place in a variety of locations, with several events taking place in Brisbane. The Brisbane Organic Growers society will be celebrating its 40^th birthday at the Albion Peace Hall in Windsor, while Ecobotanica Workshops will be hosting organic gardening immersion tutorials.
