It may be a fair stretch from the rolling hills of Indooroopilly to the rolling seas of Cape Cod, but Nantucket Kitchen & Bar is doing its darndest to bring a splash of Atlantic style to the western suburbs. The region’s wind-swept beaches and stylish beach houses provided ample inspiration for the new fine-dining venue, which sees pristine white walls and snippets of botanical wallpaper meeting dark hardwood floors and New England-style furnishings. Open from 8:30 am to 11:00 pm seven days a week, the kitchen is dishing up contemporary American nosh for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and even linner for the earlybirds.

Begin the day with buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh berries, a divine leek and bacon quiche alongside tomato relish or an indulgent smoked ham, cheddar and egg croque monsieur. Later in the day, guests can snack on moreish onion rings with housemade chipotle barbecue sauce or crab cakes with fennel ‘slaw, before moving on to bacon-wrapped meatloaf or Tasmanian lamb chops straight from the charcoal oven. Finish off the meal with some good ol’ apple, cherry or blueberry pie or a macaron ice-cream sandwich with blueberry jam. Liquid refreshments come in the form of craft beer, international wines, the house signature cocktail Bellini or hard iced teas like the Nantucket punch of Belvedere citrus vodka, mandarin, black tea, citrus gastrique and Cape Cod syrup.
