Enjoy margaritas, mole and the mother of all tacos at Milton’s Mucho Mexicano

If you’re going to learn any Spanish phrases, especially prior to a trip to Mexico, there is one in particular that we recommend. Equip yourself with ‘yo quiero tequila’ – translating to ‘I want tequila’, or if you want to profess your love for your glass of margarita, ‘te quiero, tequila’, which translates to ‘I love you, tequila’. Either way, once that phrase leaves your mouth, you know you’re in for a hell of a time. And with that very phrase blazing in neon on the wall at Milton’s new Mucho Mexicano, it’s fair to say the eatery will bring the fiesta.

If you love your Mexican food, you’re no doubt familiar with South Bank’s Mucho Mexicano, which the Olé Restaurant Group opened in June this year. Not one to rest on its laurels (despite also opening Downtown Istanbul in August and announcing Suki to open before the end of the year), the group has just opened its second Mucho Mexicano in Milton. Much like its sibling, the Mexcian-style eatery exudes a vibrant fiesta vibe, complete with brightly coloured papel picado-style banners, vibrant murals from local artist Sarah Jane Bradley, and llama pinatas strung around the space.

The similarities don’t stop there – Mucho Mexicano followers will be happy to know you can get all of your favourite Mexican-style eats at its Milton venue as well. If you need a little refresher, here is the low down. Mucho Mexicano believes sharing with your amigos is the way to go, specialising in modern Mexican-style communal feasting. You can share the likes of pulled chicken tostadas, chicharron with green mole, six kinds of tacos, quesadillas, fajitas and more. The Mother of All Tacos is a definite highlight – a build-your-own-taco share dish with your choice of meat, served with tortillas, salsa fresca, sour cream and that precious guac – you don’t even have to ask for it. The fiesta in your mouth doesn’t stop there – keep the party going with seven kinds of margaritas (both frozen and not), cocktails, wine, beer and cider.
