Mr. Rush Espresso Bar opens in Teneriffe

Tucked inside the Australian Estates Woolstore on Macquarie Street, Mr. Rush Espresso Bar is pumping out signature coffees while helping to promote artistic development across Queensland.

One of the iconic woolstore buildings lining Teneriffe is now home to a cute new cafe by the name of Mr. Rush Espresso Bar. Serving up premium coffee in a laid-back, light-filled setting, the friendly new face is open for weekday caffeine hits, with plans to open on Saturdays soon. Locals can drop by the espresso window between 7:00–11:00 am for a signature Merlo Mr. Rush blend, a Rushie espresso poured over a condensed milk base or a Choc Dopp espresso over an indulgent chocolate syrup base. Artisan cold-pressed coffees are also available by the bottle, as well as Chemex filter brews.

The latest local to join the Teneriffe cafe crowd, Mr. Rush is the social enterprise venture of the not-for-profit Artslink Queensland (formerly Queensland Arts Council), which aims to support artists and strengthen cultural development across the state. All profits from the cafe will go towards providing more services and programs to schools, organisations and artists in Queensland.

Mr. Rush offers light breakfast options like fruit toast and ham-and-cheese croissants, as well as dine-in or takeaway dishes for lunch. Graze on a share plate of breads with virgin olive oil and dukka antipasto, or the ploughman’s plate with provincial ham and a selection of marinated vegetables. Bagels, wraps and frittatas, as well as sweet options like brownies and biscuits round out the daytime menu.
