Sample French-style goats cheese at Milton Markets

Inspired by the Poitou-Charentes region of France, Peter Schwenke created Frolicking Goat cheese using the milk of his wife Lyndall’s heard of pet goats.

Having spent 27 years in the corporate IT industry, Peter was looking for a change of scenery. He turned to his love of food, in particular cheese, for his next journey in life. Frolicking Goat’s signature range of cheese is lactic goats cheese, moulded in different shapes and sizes, with each maturing at different rates to produce a varied depth and flavour profile. Some of the cheeses are covered in ash, which leads to a milder flavour in the ripening of the cheese.

Peter has spent time in the Poitou-Charentes region of France and New Zealand honing his cheese-making skills and is proud to bring these flavours to Queensland, starting with the milking of his wife Lyndall’s 12 lovely pet goats on his small acreage at Burbank.

Frolicking Goat attends the weekly Milton Markets but are also a supplier to Le Fromage Yard who attend various other markets around Brisbane.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
