The Margaret Street end of The City has been in dire need of a bar and restaurant to call its own, and now it’s got one! Master Toms has opened in a sunny spot on the corner of Margaret and Albert Streets, bringing a Californian-inspired aesthetic complete with a banging burger selection and plenty to sip as the sun goes down.

Forget Queen Street Mall – Brisbane City’s newest hotspots are setting up beyond the hustle and bustle of the city centre, seeking greener pastures amidst the towering office buildings closer to the City Botanic Gardens. The java junkies behind Emjays Coffee nabbed a piece of hot property when it became available in mid-2016, quickly setting about putting in place a vision of a laid-back Californian-inspired eatery specialising in high-quality food served promptly. Master Toms is the result of that vision – a relaxed breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks spot, plating up a tasty selection of light and fresh meals from dawn until after dusk.

If you are an early riser, give yourself a bit of extra time after your morning commute to stop by and try Master Toms breakfast menu. The Man Bun stuffs toasted schiacciata with hash browns, bacon and fried eggs, while the Hot Stack piles fluffy pancakes high and tops them with grilled banana, maple syrup, vanilla ice-cream and cinnamon sugar. If you don’t have a second to spare, the salad and sandwich cabinet is always full with a rotating takeaway selection available for eating ‘al desko’. Love a good burger? Master Toms has several to choose from including spiced pork, crispy chicken, beef and bacon and the gargantuan Master Toms Signature Burger, which is a sight to behold. If you are keen to pick at a selection of nibbles, we suggest choosing the chicken wings, Muchos Nachos, Tinga Tacos or calamari. The bar will offer sweet respite at the end of the working week, pouring local beers off tap and also mixing up a host of cocktails to get acquainted with.
