One of the most reputable repositories of world-class liquors, craft beers and award-winning wines has expanded, opening a smart location tucked away on Little Stanley Street. Malt Traders South Bank is now operating – stocking a who’s who of specialised, limited-release drops as well as a moreish range of cheese and charcuterie to make your next South Bank sojourn extra memorable.

Look, we readily accept that hitting up the closest bottle-o for a cheap six-pack of tinnies or an inexpensive bottle of wine is fine for most occasions, but sometimes we get the urge to break out of our comfort zone. Enter Malt Traders. When we are searching for a special drop (maybe we want to treat ourselves, maybe we want to treat someone else), we typically look towards Malt Traders for guidance. Renowned for stocking specialised and bespoke booze – some of the best available anywhere – Malt Traders has opened a new location in South Bank, where it is selling its core range of bottled beauties as well as a selection of gourmet charcuterie platters from a space on Little Stanley Street.

The shelves at Malt Traders South Bank are stocked with a range of top-notch spirits, wines and beers. The aim of the game is discovery – the range has been curated to be easy to digest while differing from the norm, ensuring a fruitful and educational visit each time. Whisky is a key focus as always, with obscure and coveted drops from Laphroaig, Kavalan, Douglas Laing, Bruichladdich and Warenghem present, alongside a host of other spirits from gin to tequila and even bottles of pre-made cocktails. Patrons can browse the range and enjoy their eventual choice (let’s face it – you won’t be able to resist picking something to try) on site. Also of note – the counter has been fitted with two beer taps pouring Malt’s own brew and a rotating choice. Malt Traders South Bank is also the perfect place to get equipped for a picnic by the river. Grab a bottle and a pre-made charcuterie platter and head to one of South Bank’s three licensed parks. Date night is now officially sorted.
