Malt Traders bottleshop opens in Emporium

Yesterday, Wednesday March 25, saw the second Malt Traders bottleshop and deli open its doors in Brisbane.

Independent bottleshop and deli Malt Traders has been treating Brisbane City workers to refillable beer growlers, pre-batched cocktails and takeaway nosh at its Market Street store since it opened early last year – and now thirsty Fortitude Valley locals can also get their fix. Opening on a corner of the Emporium complex in Fortitude Valley yesterday, the store specialises in throat ticklers of the highest quality, from local craft beer to biodynamic and organic wine to single-malt whisky. Brought to you by Nick Pinn, the man behind Malt Dining and co-owner of Aquitaine Brasserie, Malt Traders Emporium is the result of strong ties with small-batch, sustainable producers.

Following in its sibling store’s footsteps, the Fortitude Valley outlet also offers gourmet nibbles like McClure’s pickles, preserves, olives, nuts and cheeses, as well as take-home meals prepared by the Malt Dining chefs. Guests are welcome to take advantage of the few tables on the footpath outside to consume their purchases and the venue will also host fortnightly wine, beer and whisky tastings – keep an eye on Facebook for updates.
