Authentic Little Spain Paella street food for the lunchtime crowds

Authentic Little Spain Paella street food for the lunchtime crowds

Food entrepreneur Steve Crick has spent most of his life in the small goods butchery industry. One of Steve’s successful businesses Brathaus, now run by his son Ben, located in Paddington and Fortitude Valley pays homage to his love of authentic, specialty meats. However, it was after a trip to Spain and experiencing the wildly exotic atmosphere of Paella cooking on the streets that Steve became passionate about the craft of paella, and introduced his version of paella to the Brisbane City Markets under the name Little Spain.

The Little Spain specially-built food trailer holds six one-metre thin based Paella pans and feeds the city lunchtime crowds, offering a selection of traditional valenciana, seafood, chicken chorizo and vegan flavours. Steve is passionate about quality ingredients and sources his genuine chorizo from Spanish butchers in Sydney, as well as importing spices and Paella short-grain rice from Spain.

When you’re next in the city on a Wednesday, take a wander up the Queen Street Mall towards the river to the Brisbane City Markets and discover the delights of Steve’s Little Spain Paella.
