Jessie’s Girl swaps spritzes for scrambled eggs with new brunch offering
After nailing its evening offering of cocktails, charcuterie and share-plating dining, Jessie’s Girl is dragging itself out of bed a little bit earlier to serve up a sunny selection of daytime eats. The Petrie Terrace bar-meets-cafe is now opening early from Tuesday to Sunday, serving up breakfast and lunch – including that famously seductive thick-cut bacon from Scout.
Jessie’s Girl emerged onto the scene late last year with a stylish approach to evening hospitality. Now, owners Susannah Whitehouse and Candy Smith are returning to their roots somewhat (the duo own nearby cafe institution Scout), utilising the Jessie’s Girl kitchen during the day for a sumptuous brunch and lunch service. After trialing a boozy brunch offering on weekends, the team decided to go all-in on a daytime trade, choosing to open the doors during the week for breakfast and lunch, adding a smart new service area for coffee orders in the building’s street-facing garage space.
Alongside cups of delicious brew from Coffee Supreme, Jessie’s Girl will also serve up the likes of potato, jalapeno, mozzarella, cheddar and shallot croquettes with poached eggs, breakfast burritos with picante scrambled eggs and Kaiser bacon, tartine with babaganoush and pomegranate, and a citrusy kale, bacon, orange and pomegranate number. Jessie’s Girl is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday, so when bacon calls, you know where to go.
