West End haunt jamjar launches new dinner menu

The colourful abode that is jamjar in West End has launched a new menu with intriguing ingredients such as beetroot caramel, popcorn crab and pickled white peach gracing the bill of fare.

With a dinner menu that is broken into little bits, smalls, bigger than smalls, sides and ends, jamjar offers many a vegetarian and gluten-free dish (or the option to substitute to gluten free). Amongst the little bits is the Herbed Polenta Cake with sea salt, beetroot caramel and goats cheese puree, alongside an injection of Mexican flavour in the Petit Taco Shell of marinated beef, chilli tomato chutney, pickled green pawpaw and coriander.

The Smoked Spanner Crab Bisque with popcorn crab and soldiers features in the smalls, while the Sailor Jerry-Seared Emu, with truffled freekeh, carrot and horseradish puree and turnips caught our eye amid the more substantial dishes. Finish with a twist on tradition in the Chocolate Espresso Brulee, Pistachio Chantilly and Pistachio Biscotti.

At breakfast, the Kinda Scotch But Not of crumbed eggs, salmon gravlax, walnuts, sourdough and creme fraiche and the A Welsh Rarebit of spicy baked beans with Welsh rarebit encourage an early morning visit.
