Ivy & Lark brightens up Chermside with fresh food and lush foliage
Westfield Chermside’s had a banner year, and though you’d be forgiven for thinking the big-ticket openings are behind us, the centre comes through with another. Introducing Ivy & Lark – one of the best new specialty coffee cafes in Brisbane’s north. Combining a comfortable and casual fit-out with lush greenery, a nourishing selection of food and some sublime specialty coffee, Ivy & Lark is set to establish itself as one of the best spots to refuel when on a shopping spree, or whenever you’re craving a satisfying cafe experience.
If you’ve spent hours shopping up a storm at Westfield Chermside, you’re likely to need some liquid rejuvenation. Ivy & Lark is the ideal destination for just that – a cafe that brings the outside in with a calming atmosphere and a greenhouse-inspired aesthetic. Lush greenery – most notably Devil’s ivy and fiddle-leaf figs – hangs from the ceiling in abundance and fills every nook and cranny, the fresh and wholesome decor a far cry from what you would usually expect to find in a shopping centre. While the greenery is what will catch your eye, it’s the wafting scent of coffee that will draw you in. The team at Ivy & Lark takes a specialty approach to its coffee, enlisting Five Senses as its key supplier of the good stuff. The barista team here can supply you with espresso-based coffee as well as filter and pour-over varieties, in addition to some tasty mocktails and fresh juices.
Once your coffee order is in experienced hands, you can peruse the menu and face the tough task of picking from its extensive selection. The kitchen team picks fresh produce for its Asian, European and Middle Eastern-influenced menu, which will change seasonally and to match the tastes of its patrons. If you are keen for a bite, we hear good things about the Korean eggs benedict, potato roesti, okonomiyaki, Ivy & Lark burger, and the Ivy & Lark health bowls, which bring together a host of nourishing ingredients. The locale also opens for dinner on Thursday evenings, plating up the likes of pasture-fed lamb skewers, spicy chicken baos and crispy-skin Tasmanian salmon. Vegan and gluten-free options are plentiful, and serving sizes are impressive – plenty to fuel your next shopping spree.
