Indulge with Willie’s Cacao from Jocelyn’s Provisions, New Farm

So you know that the purest of coffee beans come from a single origin, with dreamy notes of fruits, chocolate, caramel or flowers that caress your senses with each sip. But did you know that chocolate can too be this exotic and, if possible, more indulgent?

Born from a love of adventure, Willie’s Cacao was founded after Willie Harcourt-Cooze fell head over hiking boots for the beautiful, multi-coloured pods of the cacao tree on a trip through Venezuela – home to some of the best cacao beans in the world. Despite a few initial setbacks, Willie’s passion for these plants and the homeliness he felt amongst the Venezuelan cloud forest led him to purchase a 1000-acre cacao farm to grow his cacao dreams.

With the art of chocolate making highly labour intensive, Willie found that first taste of thick cacao liquid all the more satisfying knowing how much hand preparation went into it. Travelling all over the world seeking out the best beans to produce this pure product, Willie sometimes waits years for a particular bean to become available for harvesting.

Producing bars of 100% pure cacao that is versatile to sweet or savoury dishes, add a slab of Venezuelan Black Hacienda Las Trincheras with smooth nutty notes to your next wild mushrooms stew, or perhaps pummel some Madagascan Black Sambirano Superior into a chocolate pesto. Available at Jocelyn’s Provisions in New Farm, Willie’s Cacao artisan chocolate will enrich your chocolatier senses and leave your endorphins wanting more.
