However you take your cup of jo, the innovative folks at IKAWA have introduced a home roaster that allows you to roast your coffee at a touch of a button. They also offer a range of top-quality green coffee beans – sourced from iconic locations – and a series of roasting recipes that you can access on your smartphone. So all you have to do is choose your desired recipe, drop the beans into the roaster, and watch them roast for between three and 10 minutes. Boom – you’re a coffee connoisseur.

The brainchild of two Royal College of Art (London) students, IKAWA sells more than just coffee roasters. It’s their aim to set up a supply chain where they can source excellent coffee from producers and sell it more directly to consumers. They will then re-invest 10% of the revenue from selling green coffee back into projects that help farmers produce better quality coffee and earn more money.
