Cheese to please – Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts arrive at the Myer Centre

Calling all dairy daydreamers, cheese chasers, savoury samplers and those that take tarts to heart – one of Asia’s biggest food crazes has arrived in Brisbane. Cheese tarts are set to be the next big thing in snacks and now the Myer Centre boasts its own Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart kiosk for you to seek out immediately. Sweet, savoury, hot or cold – these versatile tarts will undoubtedly be your newest obsession. Why delay the inevitable? Seek these seductive treats immediately.

It didn’t take long for Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts to become a big deal. After launching in Malaysia in mid-2016, the brand rapidly expanded across Asia to include stores in Shanghai, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei. Inspired by the covetable cheese tarts that originated in Hokkaido, Japan, these tarts blend three kinds of cheese poured it into a crumbly, biscuit-like pastry to create a decadent, bite-sized snack. They’re good – really good. In June of 2017, the delicious treat chain opened its first Queensland location on the Gold Coast and everyone promptly lost their minds. It’s been an agonising few months of waiting for the chain to come north, but we can finally say that the tarts have arrived in the form of a charming kiosk in the Myer Centre – situated near Subway on Level A.

If you succumb to your curiosity and find yourself in line to nab some tarts, you might want to know what are you in for. Well, once you get to the front of the line you’ll be given a choice – do you opt for the traditional three-cheese savoury tart or a chocolate or blueberry flavoured variety? There’s no wrong choice here – both are incredible. What’s even better is you can mix and match a take-home pack if you so choose. If you need a little bit more to get your sweet tooth really excited, you can order your tarts with Say Chizu and Berry Berry soft serve to go with it. Pretty soon you’ll see why we drool on our keyboards whenever we write about these tarts. Also worth noting, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts will also be arriving at Garden City soon – keep your eyes on The Weekend Edition for updates!

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts is now open in the Myer Centre. The kiosk will be celebrating the launch by giving away 100 free tarts between 4:00–5:00 pm on Friday December 1. For operating hours, seek out our Stumble Guide.
