Drinking for justice – The Good Beer Co. invites you to #toast2love this Friday
We are well and truly at the pointy end of the marriage equality survey, with the November 7 return date approaching faster than Tony Abbott’s bizarre willingness to eat raw onions in public without a second thought. It’s truly heartwarming to see so many businesses throwing their support behind the fight for a positive vote, and one company making it exceptionally fun and easy to participate in the cause is The Good Beer Co.. Come Friday November 3, this social enterprise invites you to raise your glass in a #toast2love, raising funds and awareness for a last push of support before the votes close.
A couple of weeks ago we let you guys know about Love² by The Good Beer Co., a special New World-style pale ale created in conjunction with Bright Brewery to raise some dosh for the Australian Marriage Equality campaign. The beer was so well-received that a new batch has been brewed to keep up with demands, so The Good Beer Co. thought it would ride the hype train a little longer by creating an event to garner some last-minute support for the cause – enter a ‘Toast 2 love’.
This Friday November 3, fifteen pubs, bars and venues across Australia are supporting the ‘Toast 2 Love’ movement by putting the special Love² brew on tap, while more than 100 businesses including Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Medibank, Qantas, and Atlassian are getting involved by serving the Love² beer in bottles at special ‘Toast 2 Love’ Friday drinks events across the country. Aether Brewing Company, Bloodhound Bar, Collective Kitchen, both the Milton and OG Newstead Brewing Company locations and Tipplers Tap will all be participating in the toast on Friday, and you can pre-order a carton of Love² online here for a celebration at home with mates at a later date. If you choose to get on the sauce for social justice, be sure to share it on social with the hashtag #toast2love.
Go on – #toast2love and be on the right side of history, folks!
