Goat Pie Guy opens a permanent gourmet kitchen

After three years as a market favourite, the Goat Pie Guy has opened up a permanent location just off Sandgate Road. Stocking some new items as well as the old favourites, Goat Pie Guy Gourmet Kitchen is a must visit spot on any drive north.

Mick Hobson is better known around Brisbane as the Goat Pie Guy, an affable fella whose baking expertise is specialised in, as his name suggests, gourmet goat pies. Using Australian boer goat meat, Mick has been churning golden-crusted goodness for three years at markets across Brisbane. Now, Mick and his wife Meg have opened up Goat Pie Guy Gourmet Kitchen, selling old favourites and tasty new treats.

This cafe and kitchen serves top-quality pies, including traditional goat pies and specialty variations like the Ploughman’s Pork Pie and new menu items such as burgers, toasted sandwiches, pavlova and brownies. Goat Pie Gourmet Kitchen also pours great cups of Veneziano coffee, the perfect accompaniment for a brekkie pie.

Goat Pie Guy Gourmet Kitchen is located in Deagon, but market goers shouldn’t fret, you can still find Mick, Meg and their legendary pies at every Jan Powers Farmers Market in Brisbane City, New Farm, Manly and Mitchelton.
