Gelato Messina and Peters Drumstick converge to create the perfect cone
Some pairings are just meant to be – peas and carrots, wine and cheese, Turner and Hooch … We could go on, but we’re here today to tell you about one merger that has us literally drooling – the old-school icon Peters Drumstick and the pioneering Gelato Messina have joined forces to create a range of ice-creams that will add some serious sweetness to your summer.
When it comes to genius collaborations, the union of Gelato Messina and Peters was a no brainer. The Peters Drumstick has been an Australian summertime staple since its inception back in 1963 – and while there’s nothing wrong with a classic, sometimes a shake-up is what the people crave. Enter Gelato Messina, the dessert mavericks with a serious knack for sweet-themed innovation. After months of back and forth between the Peters Drumstick’s factory in Mulgrave and Messina’s kitchen in Rosebery, the two dessert giants have unleashed four fabulous flavours for punters to wrap their mouths around.
If you’re curious about what tastes are on offer, here’s the scoop – you can cop four new flavours inspired by some of Gelato Messina’s most popular existing concoctions. The brand’s famous Dulce de Leche has been cone-ified (complete with trademark sauce), along with a vanilla bean and peanut praline creation and a saucy roasted hazelnut number. Those who prefer fruity flavours can cop a mango and coconut combo featuring fresh Kensington Pride mango sorbet entwined with Murray River salted-coconut sorbet.
Want to get your hands on these i-cone-ic flavours? Drumstick X Messina four-packs will be available for a limited time from Coles, Woolworths and independent grocery stores from mid-January, or you can get your hot little hands on individual cones at selected petrol and convenience stores.
