This weekend marks the second birthday of Petrie Terrace’s Fritzenberger, but it’s okay – you don’t need to get a present. To celebrate the milestone the team is gifting Brisbane a second Fritzenberger location in Wilston’s main hub of Kedron Brook Road. The Fritzenberger brains trust – spearheaded by Andrew Jeffries, Steve Minon and Matthew Bailey of Harajuku Gyoza fame – fell in love with the prominent corner space (formerly home to The Coffee Club) and its potential as a valued addition to the suburb’s dining strip. After a sharp sprucing, the new location now boasts a cool and casual aesthetic, with indoor and outdoor seating providing the perfect locale for after-work drinks, leisurely weekend lunches, peak-hour feeds and laid-back Sunday sessions.

Fritzenberger’s core range of eats has been transplanted to the new Wilston haunt, with the likes of the classic Fritzen Burger, fried-chicken burger and pulled-pork burger up for grabs alongside loaded frites (Fritzenberger’s signature salts are now available on your table), wings, house-made dill pickles, shakes and mac’n’cheese balls. A new range of sharing salads and ice-creams doused in hot sauce have launched in time for the opening as well, while monthly specials will offer a regular shake-up. Although you won’t find stainless-steel brewing apparatus at Fritzenberger Wilston, you’ll still be able to sip on the fresh products of Petrie Terrace’s tanks. Eight of the bar’s in-house brews are available (alongside rotating labels), with brand-new steins and growlers on hand for those partial to a sudsy chug. Craft beer tins and bottles are also available, as well as Fonzie Abbott coffee and a bar full of spirits, cocktails and wines for anyone saving stomach space for a second serve of frites.
