Sydney favourite Fratelli Famous Pizzeria makes its way to Brisbane

If you love Italian food and you’ve ever been to Sydney or Melbourne, chances are you’re familiar with the name Fratelli. If you’re not familiar but just love pizza (because you’re a human being), then we promise you’re going to be equally excited. Fratelli Fresh’s younger sibling Fratelli Famous Pizzeria is opening its doors in Brisbane, and it’s dishing up 500 free pizzas to celebrate.

No – that’s not a typo. Five. Hundred. Free. Pizzas. So when Fratelli Famous Pizzeria opens its doors this Friday December 16, we suggest you find yourself in the vicinity of Eagle Street Pier. Why should you be excited? Other than free pizzas, of course. Fratelli Famous Pizzeria is the fast-casual spin-off of renowned Italian eatery Fratelli Fresh, and is the first of the newly expanded Rockpool Dining Group to make its way to Brisbane – there’s a bunch of other exciting venues from the group to come next year. Much like its southern locations, Fratelli Famous is designed to be fresh, fast and fun, with the concept centring around its custom-built pizza oven.

While you can opt for one of the nine hand-stretched signature pizzas (like Classic Margherita and Spicy Vegan), what Fratelli Famous really wants you to do is create your own. Yep, the object of your mouth-watering affection is completely your creation. Choose from sourdough, classic Napolitana or gluten-friendly bases, then select from a number of sauces, seasoning and cheeses, and then go crazy on unlimited toppings. This isn’t your standard ham and pineapple, people (although you can create that if you want) – we’re talking nduja, pancetta, lemon-roasted chicken, broccolini, roasted garlic, grilled artichokes and more. Breakfast and dessert pizzas are also available, or if you’re watching the carbs you can build your own salad instead. Just make sure you leave room for the house-made gelato, with flavours including Salted Pistachio Crunch, Tahitian Vanilla and Tiramisu.

Alright dear readers, this is the part that we tell you about the freebies. To celebrate the opening of its first Queensland store, Fratelli Famous is giving 500 build-your-own pizzas to its first customers from 11:00 am this Friday. Hello, fun-lunch Friday!
