Say cheers to Italian cocktail history with limited-edition Four Pillars Four Negronis

One hundred years ago, a Count walked into an Italian bar and asked for a shot of gin in his Americano. The legend of the Negroni was born and we’ve been thankful ever since.

To celebrate a sweet century of the Italian aperitif, as well as Negroni Week 2019, one of our favourite little Aussie distilleries has released limited-edition packs of Four Pillars Four Negronis. These bottled beauties each feature a different gin from the Four Pillars range, and represent various ecosystems within Australia. Woodland is an herbaceous Negroni based on the Rare Dry Gin with Campari, paperbark-smoked rosella, ‘orange wine’, pine needles and moss, while Coastal is a vibrant Negroni featuring the limited-edition Underground Sydney Gin, as well as Italicus, Suze, samphire, seablite and saltbush. The Metropolitan is an ode to our cities’ love affair with coffee and cocktails, and combines Spiced Negroni Gin with Campari, coffee beans and burnt toast, while the final creation Desert is a bold Negroni based on the distiller’s Bloody Shiraz Gin with Campari, charred blood plums and desert limes.

All through Negroni Week 2019 – which runs from Monday June 24 to Sunday June 30 – these special Negroni variants will be getting poured at four exclusive pop-up stores across the country. Head to Cru Bar + Cellar on James Street to sample the dedicated Four Pillars Negroni menu, before heading to the nearby pop-up store to pick up a bottle of Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin, a take-home pack of Four Negronis, Negroni t-shirts, Breakfast Negroni Marmalade or a Frank Body collaborative Negroni-soaked coffee body scrub.
