Those who have dined at Camp Hill cafe Florence are probably well acquainted with its phenomenal selection of baked goods. To please the cake-hungry masses, the team behind the cherished eatery has taken the time – and some sugar, flour and icing – to create an online outpost dedicated to its darling treat offering. Say hello to Floss, a baked-goods dispensary pumping out decadent special-occasion cakes and sweets that are sure to have your tastebuds singing.

In addition to its menu of wholesome nutritious eats and sublime specialty coffee, fans of Camp Hill cafe Florence often rave about its top-tier selection of baked goods (we can attest, they are seriously mouth-watering). The popular suburban brunch spot has cultivated a reputation for its cakes, pastries and biscuits over the years, to the point where the team is frequently approached with whole cake requests. Seeing this as an opportunity to expand operations, Florence owners Elizabeth Florence and Sam Pethely decided to launch speciality baked goods business Floss. Earlier this year, the crew installed a dedicated pastry kitchen at the rear of Florence, where you can now find a team of pastry chefs working to craft a range of thoughtful and eye-catching cakes and baked goods for retail and wholesale customers.

The new – and fully online – venture caters to folks looking for something to help them celebrate a special occasion – as well as those simply eager to indulge their sweet tooth. The ever-evolving selection of sweets are crafted from fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, with the creations as pretty as they are delicious. Dessert lovers can expect to lay their eyes on the likes of whole cakes, single-serve bar cakes, cookies, biscuits, filled doughnuts, pastries and much more. Current favourites include the Floss Buttercake (a classic buttercake rippled with fresh fig and crushed pistachio, lashings of rhubarb buttercream, a sprinkle of dried raspberry and a crown of fresh fruit on top), ginger molasses cakes (with fresh ginger, molasses and pineapple), Melting Moments made with rhubarb buttercream, and peanut butter and miso cookies. Retail customers are now able to order via Floss’s website (with pick up available from Florence), while a small list of speciality coffee cafes will also be stocked with a rotating selection of Floss treats. Shop the range via the Floss website, and keep your eyes peeled for the new lip-smacking summer menu that’s set to drop on November 27.
