Achin’ for some bacon – cult US burger makers Five Guys are coming to Australia
Travelling to the US for a well-deserved fast-food feast is off the cards for the foreseeable future, so the Yanks have decided to come to us. Prepare for grilled greatness, as cult US burger chain Five Guys is coming to our shores and it’s bringing a menu of drool-worthy eats with it.
Burger-loving globetrotters are well aware that much-loved East Coast fast-food franchise Five Guys is worth making a pit-stop for. Now, it looks like we won’t have to board a plane to get a taste of the action (not that we could anyway) as the brand is hoping to set up base in Sydney in 2021, with plans to expand to Brisbane (yes, please), Melbourne and eventually, New Zealand. It’s all thanks to Seagrass Boutique Hospitality group (who also help run Ribs & Burgers), which will be managing the Australian operations as master franchisee, according to Good Food.
An absolutely stacked mouth-watering selection of cheesy American-style burgers is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what we can look forward to eating from the Five Guys menu. There’s also kosher hot dogs, cheese-and-bacon-filled hot dogs, grilled cheese and veggie sandwiches, fresh-cut French fries (which you can order salted or seasoned Cajun-style) as well as an array of hand-spun milkshakes to wash down your meal in flavours like banana, malted-milk, Oreo, peanut butter, salted-caramel and even bacon. Yep, we are both curious and horrified at the same time. Stay tuned for more details!
