Cassie Potts has been operating one of Nundah’s most popular hot spots Fitz + Potts since 2015. Fitz + Potts is a comfortable drinking spot that combines an old-school aesthetic with a charming and approachable atmosphere. The space is located upstairs at the juncture of Sandgate Road and Chapel Street, boasting a wrap-around deck fronting the street and three individual rooms within – each with its own distinct style. Cassie has built up the space – formerly a dentist practice – keeping as much of the original structural details and possible while adding a scratch-built bar and benches with the help of master builder Peter Morris. Fitz + Potts is decorated with only eclectic and vintage items and furniture collected over the past year – creating an unpolished and lived-in feel from the breezy open space of the Sun Room to the grandmothers living room vibe of the Paisley Room.

Drawing upon her experience in the craft beer industry, Cassie has curated the drink offering, serving Australian micro-brews from six taps with only special and limited edition bottled varieties available from the fridge. A range of Australian boutique and artisan spirits are available, encouraged to drink neat with all mixers served separately. Australian wines are also available, and a small cocktail list will offer favourites. Those looking for a snack can sample a range of treats from Fitz + Potts boards, with three varieties offering cured meats, cheese and an exclusively vegan selection including bites such as hickory smoked Tempe, tofurkey, grilled vegetables and dips. The crew will also be serving a rotating selection of jaffles packed with delicious gourmet ingredients.
