Eat Street Markets

Eat Street Markets opens at Hamilton Wharf

The bustle and buzz of an Asian night market is being recreated at the old Hamilton Wharf, where more than 50 shipping containers are being transformed into fresh produce stores, galleries, mini-restaurants and bars.

The decommissioned wharf at Hamilton may have been overshadowed by its shiny new neighbour Portside Wharf of late, but the area is about to get its mojo back with the launch of Eat Street Markets this Friday November 8. The new dining destination is an innovative shipping container village where fresh fruit and vegetables, international cuisine, craft beer, wine, cocktails and local performers will create a festive atmosphere from 4:00–10:00 pm every Friday and Saturday night. Stock up on fresh pickings direct from local farms, browse innovative art and enjoy live entertainment on the performance stage. When the belly rumbles hit, sample local fare such as woodfired pizzas from Banneton Bakery, Asian dishes from Michael’s Steamed Dumplings, Japanese pizzas from Okonomi House and fresh seafood from Samies Girl, as well as ice-cold beverages from Caxton St Catering.

The Eat Street Markets will launch this Friday November 8, coinciding with Northshore Containerval Festival, while the Brisbane International Film Festival Northshore Outdoor Cinema will provide the perfect entertainment on Friday and Saturday 15–16 November during the market’s second weekend. Check out the Eat Street Markets Facebook page for updates and vendors.
