This summer is set to be a scorcher. The sun will be out, the days will be long and the nights promise to be steamy. If you’re looking to cool off with a refreshing spritz by the riverside (because, who wouldn’t?), we know just the place – Eagle Street Pier. The waterfront precinct is celebrating summer in style with plenty of fun on the calendar – from fire twirlers and delicious bites to local music and swing sets with some of the best views in Brisbane.

Over 40 days this summer – from now until the end of January – Eagle Street Pier will come alive with larger-than-life installations, delicious snacks and live entertainment. It will be all fun and games at the waterfront precinct, which will have a number of exciting activities on the cards – think a pop-up porch to relax on, a custom-built swing and play space, and interactive games spread throughout the vibrant vicinities. Once the sun goes down, the action is ramped up with Neon Nights, transforming the riverside precinct with sparkling colours and dazzling lights. The good vibes will continue with a jam-packed live music program, with local artists performing Wednesday through to Sunday during summer. On Saturday nights, Eagle Street Pier will become party central – visitors can tear it up on the dancefloor (yes, dancing is finally allowed again!) with DJs spinning on the decks and roving fire twirlers sure to turn up the temperature.

To tantalise your tastebuds, Eagle Street Pier has a smorgasbord of sumptuous bites on offer. Lovers of spice can hit up modern Thai restaurant and bar Naga, where they will be met with a zesty selection of fresh Thai flavours in dishes such as Moreton Bay bug pad Thai, grilled pork-neck salad, massaman beef milk buns and seafood dumpling green curry. It can all be washed down with lychee wine, Naga Laga or the signature plum Nagaroni cocktail.

More exciting edibles are on the cards this summer, with the precinct welcoming a host of new restaurants including a new steakhouse from restaurateur Michael Tassis (of George’s ParagonMassimo Restaurant & Bar and Rico Bar & Dining fame). The restaurant is set to open before the end of the year, so carnivores can end their year on a delicious note! Eagle Street Pier’s metamorphosis will pick up more steam with the opening of COPPA in the new year. The much-anticipated eatery will offer a seasonal menu of exquisite eats that blends coastal-Italian cuisine with Australian ingredients, which can be enjoyed in the venue’s sun-dappled alfresco dining space. We’re already looking forward to that negroni.
