Eagle Street Pier is kicking off the new year with fresh seafood spots, Sunday sessions and live music
A new year brings new opportunities, fresh things to do and plenty to see – and speaking for ourselves, we can’t wait to make the most of summer in the city. One place kicking off the new year in style is Eagle Street Pier, which is continuing to serve up good vibes, great eats and guaranteed fun in 2021. From riverside gigs and Sunday sessions filled with fruity sips to sumptuous seafood restaurants and lavish Italian eateries, here’s what’s in store for the pier this month …
River views, stellar eats and kick-ass tipples – there’s no better place to perch up than Eagle Street Pier this summer. A new year brings brand-new bites to the table, with the waterfront hang welcoming the much-anticipated COPPA on Thursday January 14. It’s here where diners can dig in to a smorgasbord of exquisite Italian eats and fine wine while lapping up golden hour in the alfresco dining space. If you’re after a fresh catch, make tracks to the newly opened Fatcow Steak & Lobster, which is dishing up divine seafood snacks and top cuts of beef – think slow-cooked lamb shanks, shellfish platters and beef tartare. Libation lovers can kick off their weekend with a leisurely lounge in the restaurant’s Whiskey and Wine Bar, where eager sippers can taste from more than 150 whiskeys and exceptional wines.
The fun continues with tropical sips and finger-licking snacks at The Bavarian, which is turning it on every Sunday until the end of February. You’ll be able to enjoy all your favourite German-inspired fare (think mouth-watering pork knuckle and golden-crumbed schnitzels) as well as score $20 cocktail jugs in flavours like Lychee Paradise, Strawberry Margarita, Elderflower Garden and Apple-Tini. This weekend (Sunday January 27) will also be the last that Eagle Street Pier transforms into a sizzling summer playground. Make sure to pop into the waterfront destination to check out its Celebrate Summer pop-up, which welcomes roving fire twirlers, local musicians and swing sets into the precinct. Dive into the fun before it swims away!
