Take puppy to breakfast at Saabi, Brown Dog and Slinky

While you’re at work during the week, man’s best friend is usually cooped up at home. So when the weekend rolls around, it’s nice to be able to take your pooch along for a sunny breakfast outdoors and spend some time together, while you enjoy your slowed-down weekend morning meal. We’ve compiled a list of cafes that will happily permit puppy visitors.

Saabi on Manson is super dog friendly. On any day you can sit at the outdoor bench with your furry friend, or prop him up in the grassy dog corner with a water bowl. However, every Saturday a mobile hydrobath pulls up on the corner, so puppy can get some well-deserved grooming time while you sip your coffee indoors. Brown Dog Cafe in Woolloongabba is an obvious choice, having always welcomed man’s best friend. Pull up a stool in the sun and soak up the good life with pooch by your side. Slinky Espresso in Fairfield has a number of outdoor tables where dogs are welcome to sit with their eating owners. The staff will even bring out a doggy bowl of water for your four-legged friend.

Sisco in Spring Hill has water bowls set up out the front, allowing puppy to rest under the shade of a tree while you devour scrumptious morning fillings. Urban Grind has a designated ‘dog parking’ area with water bowls set out, but persistent puppies are also welcome to join you at your outdoor stool set-up if they can’t bear to be a few metres away. Bean On Dean has a water bowl beneath a tap for refills and your canine can sit with you outside, while Qwerk in Wilston also a happy recipient of furry visitors. Honourable mentions also go out to Desmond & Molly Jones where dogs can hang out by the outdoor bench with a water bowl, and Our Haus in Hawthorne, which has dog parking in the driveway alongside the cafe. Well-behaved hounds will even get a Schmacko treat at Double Shot Espresso in New Farm.
