Treat yourself with ice-cream reinvented by Dippin’ Dots

Do you remember the anticipation of eating ice-cream as a child? The musical sound of the ice-cream van making its way around the neighbourhood, the rush of kids to be first in line, the sticky sweet ice-cream dripping down your fingers and the joy of sucking that last dribble out of the bottom of the soggy cone.

While you may no longer chase the neighbourhood ice-cream van, ice-cream can still me an exciting part of adulthood. Dippin’ Dots has changed the way we enjoy ice-cream, pioneered by a microbiologist using the process of cryogenic encapsulation or super-cold flash freezing to make little beads of ice-cream. Joan and Ray Eyres from Eyres Ice Cream set up a mobile Dippin’ Dots ice-cream stall at various markets and events around Southeast Queensland including the Love your Local Markets at Hawthorne as well as at most Eats & Beats events at Logan.
Dippin’ Dots are made from fresh dairy ingredients flavoured with a variety of fun, fruity, enticing and even exotic flavours in ice-cream, sorbet and ices as well as milkshakes. Next time you see those tiny balls of frozen colour make sure you have a try – the chill of the first bite followed by the explosion of flavour as the dots begin to melt in your mouth is an experience to remember.
