DineSmart at South Bank to help the homeless
While the festive season begins to envelop us in celebratory evenings out sipping champagne and toasting to a good year, it’s also a time for giving back and thinking of others. In the six weeks leading up to Christmas, restaurants the country over are participating in DineSmart, a national initiative to support the homeless in our local community.
Run by StreetSmart Australia, DineSmart will see 13 restaurants within the South Bank precinct hop on board to help raise funds for local organisations that provide critical services and emergency aid to the homeless. When enjoying a balmy night of feasting at one of the participating restaurants, $2 will be added to every bill, with diners given the choice to opt-out or donate more.
From this week until December 24, visit La Via, South Bank Surf Club, Olé, The Point Bistro, Ahmet’s Turkish Restaurant, Dell’ Ugo, The Plough Inn, Cove Bar + Dining, Piaf Bistro, Sardine Tin, Stokehouse Q and Bacchus (and Next Door Kitchen & Bar when it opens in December) to help give back to the community. Some of the local charities that will benefit include 139 Club, Open Doors Youth Service, The Big Issue and Suited For Success.
