In July 2020, Jerome Dalton of DALTON Catering purchased primo pasta maker, CJ’s Pasta. Jerome planned on re-launching this month, however has now decided to push forward his plans and instead open Brisbane’s very first lasagne drive-through. Following a successful (and initially temporary) pop-up launch on Good Friday, the fast-paced concept is extending its stay for a few more weeks – yippee! For a limited time only, you’ll find DALTON Catering’s lasagne drive-through at 22 Prospect Street, Fortitude Valley on Fridays from 11:00–6:00 pm. It works like this – you call up the team to pre-order your lasagne to have it hot and ready-to-go for pick up (and to make sure you don’t miss out – it sold out the first time around). If you’re feeling lucky, you can rock up on Friday to try nab a fresh chilled lasagne – but remember it will be first come, first served.

The menu isn’t limited to one type of lasagne either. You can score a beef lasagne (1.2 kilogram or three kilogram), a sandcrab lasagne or a vegetarian lasagne. All three flavours come with a cheesy garlic focaccia that’s perfect for dipping into any extra sauce that’s left on your plate. If you’re planning on hosting a dinner party and you’re searching for some starters to enjoy before you go the whole hog and polish off the lasagne, you can also pick up a salumi box filled with mortadella, salami cotto, salami seca, pane di casa and pickles. Rest assured, everything is fresh as can be – from the pasta right down to the salumi, all of it is made in house by the Dalton team. Of course, a meal full of Italian delicacies isn’t complete without a nice red, and luckily for us, there’s also some mighty fine vino available to pre-order.
