Stone & Wood swings you back to summer with its latest Counter Culture release
We may be pulling on the knits and uggies, but these brew geniuses are treating us to the sweet taste of summer with the limited-edition Sticky Nectar beer.
Byron Bay beer lords Stone & Wood have done it again with the second release of their limited-edition Counter Culture series – and we’re welcoming Sticky Nectar with open arms and gullets. Originally called Mango Smoothie, this summer-style beer is based on a New England IPA with generous lashings of mango puree, vanilla and lactose to create a smooth and creamy thirst-quencher. Embrace tropical fruit aromas from galaxy, citra and amarillo hops and a golden hue that screams sweaty summer days.
The Counter Culture series gives Stone & Wood brewers a chance to break the mould and create some fun limited-edition beers inspired by short-run pilot-batch brews, limited-edition collaborations or anything that piques their interest. Each release is available for a short time of roughly eight weeks before being ousted by a new brew, meaning drinkers need to be quick to wrap their mitts around the goods. Counter Culture launched with a contemporary, raspberry-loaded take on a traditional Berliner Weisse, the Killer Kween, in March, which was followed up by the Sticky Nectar in May. The current brew is almost sold out so get in quick to nab a two-pack of 500 ml tinnies directly from the Stone & Wood online store or any good bottle shop – or find the brew tapped at select venues and the Byron Bay brewery for a very limited time.
