Genius or insane? Coles has created two new eye-popping flavours of chips

Rather, our view is that we put it out there with all of the necessary information and let you make up your own mind – so this is us, doing that. Supermarket giant Coles has released two new flavours of chips that have been hailed equal parts intriguing and cursed – the flavours in question are Chicken Nugget and Apple Pie.
As a general rule, we love nugs (we didn’t choose the #nuglife, it chose us) so we’re open to Coles’ new crispy creations. The new flavours of chip were spotted by an eagle-eyed shopper who proceeded to post her peculiar find on the Facebook page Addicted to Bargains, which is dedicated to unearthing excellent discoveries, and has since generated a lot of interest online. According to Coles, the new nug-inspired chips contain a blend of seasoning to recreate the iconic chicken-nugget taste, how this differs from the regular chicken flavour of chips we’re yet to determine but look, since they cracked the secret to the famous Big Mac sauce – sorry, Special Burger Sauce – we’re willing to keep an open mind on this one.
For those with a sweet tooth, there’s also an unusual Ultimate Apple Pie flavour, which allegedly features the taste of sweet apple filling, spices and pastry in every bite. The new special-edition flavours come hot on the heels of the Special Burger Sauce chips and Hot Cross Bun popcorn, which have on the whole been pretty well received so maybe they’re on to a good thing here? The new flavours retail for $3 a bag and are available at Coles stores nationwide while stocks last but good luck getting your hands on some!
