Coffee Anthology brings Melbourne to Margaret Street

Showcasing a heart-starting line-up of Melbourne coffee labels in a cosy brick-and-timber slice of Margaret Street, Coffee Anthology is sating the city’s caffeine call.

From the quote-filled blackboard perched on the footpath to the specialty-grade beans working their way through the grinders, Coffee Anthology is wholeheartedly focused on bringing its customers a hit of caffeine-fuelled happiness. Taking its name from the word for collection, or compilation, the coffee house showcases a rotating selection from Australia’s top coffee roasters to cater to the varying tastes of its customers. A tempting range of beans and brewing paraphernalia takes up residence in the retail corner, while the brick-and-timber fit-out is complemented by extra little touches like potted greenery dangling from suspended shelves and low-lit lanterns. Pull up a stool inside or spread out on a table in the breeze and choose from the wide selection of single origins for filter or blends for espresso.

Passionate coffee doyen Adam Wang has gathered his top picks to fill your cup, including the chocolate nougat and sweet berry flavours of Drummer Boy by Geelong’s Cartel Roasters, and the caramel and sweet milk chocolate notes of Daddy’s Girl from Padre Coffee. You’ll also regularly find Seven Seeds, Uncle Joe’s, Proud Mary, The Maling Room and Axil Coffee Roasters on the bill. Team your brew with Maleny Dairies Jersey milk, Zymil, Bonsoy, or opt for the 1+1 special of a 5-ounce milk-based coffee with an espresso on the side to sample the best of both worlds. Non coffee drinkers can find Cartel Special Teas and fresh juices on offer. While the food menu will expand over time, all-day snacks and sweet treats are currently available to eat in or take away. Chow down on a bacon and egg panini, a ham and cheese croissant, a selection of sandwiches or more indulgent offerings like salted caramel brownies, passionfruit melting moments and nutella tarts.

While Coffee Anthology will be trialling Saturday trade from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm this weekend, you can find regular trading hours and contact information in our Stumble Guide.
